Born in Trenton, he was a resident of the Cream Ridge area for many years. A WWII Marine Corp Veteran, Leroy worked in paint sales for many years, most recently working for Kucker Haney in Trenton. A member of Hamilton Elks #2262, Leroy was an avid golfer and enjoyed horse racing.
Predeceased by two sons, David and William Benck and two brothers, John and Robert Benck, he is survived by his wife of 31 years, Betty Jane Benck; a daughter and son-in-law, Catherine and Albert Steffen of Plumsted Twp.; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Leroy, Jr. and Barbara Benck of Weeki Wachee, Fl and Robert Benck of North Pole, AK; a step-son and daughter-in-law Robert and Linda Reilly of Cream Ridge, a brother and sister-in-law, Stanley & Virgina Benck of Hamilton Twp.; as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephew.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 1st at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St. Allentown. Interment will follow in Cream Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 7-9pm and again Wednesday from 10am until the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 1 Union Street, #301 Robbinsville, NJ 08691.
