LeRoy F. Arndt, 90 of Valparaiso, passed away Monday, April 7, 2014. He was born August 11, 1923 in Wilders, Indiana the son of George and Bertha (Domes) Arndt. On November 29, 1944 in Norman, OK he married Bettie L. Gibson, who preceded him in death June 9, 2009. LeRoy was a US Marine Corps Veteran 1943-45 serving state side and in the South Pacific. He was a retired carpenter and a 60 year member of the Moose Lodge 1357 and the American Legion Post 94. Surviving is his son Robert A. (Janice) Arndt of Valparaiso, his daughter Tena (David) Grisham of Florida, 3 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Three brothers, Robert C. Arndt of Valparaiso, Thomas (Ruth) Arndt of Westville and David (Virginia) Arndt of Kouts and a sister Mildred "Toots" O'Brian of Wanatah, also survive. His parents, a brother George Arndt, Jr. and sister Dorothy "Panny" Anders preceded him in death. Visitation will be held Friday, April 11, 2014, 9-11 AM at Bartholomew Funeral Home, 102 Monroe St, Valparaiso. Graveside Services to follow at Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso.
