Doris Ilda Mateer Wagner, 89, of New Brighton, formerly of Monaca, died Sunday, April 6, 2014, at Rochester Manor.

Born June 17, 1924, in Monaca, the daughter of the late James and Elizabeth Todd Mateer, she was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, New Brighton, where she taught Sunday School and was involved with the Women's Association. She was also an avid gardener.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, George H. Wagner; a daughter and son-in-law, Jane Mihalko and George Klinger, New Brighton; a son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Joy Wagner, Monaca; a sister, Mae Unholtz, Willoughby, Ohio; two brothers, Harry and John Mateer, both of Monaca; five grandchildren, Danielle Mihalko and Ted London, Rebecca (Alan) Wooten, Michael (Jen) Wagner, Stacy Wagner, and Nichole (Josh) Burt; eight great-grandchildren, Alexia, Meghan, Zach, Ariana, Levi, Morgan, Lily and Colton; also several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, George, Jim and Emmett Mateer, and four sisters, Elojeane Weaton, Gladith Danis, Myrna Conkle and Mary Snyder.

Friends will be received on Friday from 2 to 8 p.m. in the GABAUER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 1133 Penn Ave., New Brighton, www.gabauerfuneralhome.com. She will lie in state at the First Presbyterian Church, New Brighton, on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. John Dickey officiating.

Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Monaca.
