DEATHS.
Adams.—On the 20th inst. (suddenly), at the residence of Mrs Meldrum, Cumberland street, John Adams (father of W. H., J. A., F. H., and T. S. Adams); aged 60 years. [Evening Star, Issue 9270, 21 October 1893, Page 2]

ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
John Adams, a widower, sixty years of age, died suddenly at Mrs Meldrum's boardinghouse in Cumberland street (near Frederick street) last night. At half-past eight Miss Meldrum went to deceased's room to call him, and he was then apparently asleep, breathing heavily. Along with Miss Davis, a boarder, she again went to the room twenty minutes later, and they then found the man dead. Deceased, who was a bootmaker by occupation, was heard to complain lately of pains in the chest and about the region of the heart, and this leads to the supposition that death was due to heart disease.. He leaves four sons, three of whom are resident in Dunedin. [Evening Star, Issue 9270, 21 October 1893, Page 2]
