As a Greeley County Agricultural Adjustment Administration field woman in the 1940s, she advised farmers on conservation and collecting metal for war use. She corresponded with Eleanor Roosevelt about a planned trip to Nebraska, but the trip was canceled.
In the Nebraska Community Improvement Program, she received the 1973 Nebraska Leadership Award and, as chairwoman in 1978, received the First Place Award. She acquired funds for the Scotia swimming pool, tennis court and Chalk Hills Manor Housing Project.
