Jo Ann Dent, age 59, of Mt. Vernon passed away 7:05 a.m. Friday, April 11, 2014 at her home in Mt. Vernon.
Jo Ann was born April 7, 1955 in Mt. Vernon, Illinois the daughter of Charles Kittinger Jr. and Ruby (Hensley) Kittinger. She married on June 4, 2011 in Mt. Vernon and her husband survives in Mt. Vernon.
She is survived by her husband of Mt. Vernon; her brother Paul & his wife Linda Byers of Texas, two nieces & a nephew of Texas, a niece & nephew of Arizona and many great & great great nieces & nephews. And some special friends very close & dear to her heart.
Jo Ann was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Bill Byers.
Funeral services will be held 4 p.m. Sunday, April 13, 2014 at the Newell Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, IL with Pastor John Capps officiating.
Visitation will be held on Sunday from 1 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Burial will be held at the Bethel Cemetery in Mt. Vernon at a later date.
