Fern is survived by sisters Elizabeth McCoy of TX, Betty Sue Homeyer of VA, and sister-in-law Lynda Culberson of AR. She is also survived by step-children Mike Toombs, Cindy Blake, and Cheryl Plank, plus step-grandchldren, many nephews, and nieces and friends. Special thanks goes to her nephew, Jimbo Homeyer for his loving and diligent care of Fern during her final years.
Fern lived many years in Tulsa, OK, where she worked for Thunderbird Realty, Yellow Cab Co, and Mapco. She relocated to Houston and later Victoria. She was caretaker to husbands Garland and Jack, and her mother. She was a member of Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America, Inc.
When you saw Fern you were looking at a ray of sunshine. Her life was full of enthusiasm, laughter, and she was a beacon of light for all those who were blessed to know her and to be in her presence. She was our Earthly butterfly and has traded those wings for her Heavenly ones.
Burial service will commence at Rhodes Funeral Home in Karnes City, followed by the burial at Karnes City Cemetery.
