The Prophetic Remark Made by Pioneer John E. Bryant.
Another vacancy has been made in the ranks of the Pioneers. John E. Bryant, a member of the society, was found dead in his bed yesterday at the Colusa House on Fourth street. Acting Coroner W. A. Henry made an official inquiry into the cause of death, and the autopsy showed that it resulted from natural causes. A few days ago the deceased said to a friend: "Well, I'm going to the funeral of one of our Pioneers today. I suppose it will be my turn next." Deceased was born in Sweden, and was 66 years of age. He was at one time engaged in the butchering business. A son William Bryant, lives in San Francisco.
