Zane Hoops, 62, died at his home northwest of Pittsburg, Monday morning, July 19, after a short illness following a stroke of paralysis, which he suffered Wednesday. He had lived all his life in Van Buren county.

He is survived by his wife, Nettie Sullivan Hoops, and four daughters, Mrs. Harold Craig of Keosauqua, Mrs. Bernita Breslauer of Chicago and Mrs. Myrtle Rasmussen; Mrs. Thelma Fiefer of Chicago; one grandson, Max Breslauer; one sister, Mrs. Etta Yarnell of Douds; and one uncle, W.B. Strait of Keosauqua.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon, at the Burnett Funeral Home, in charge of the Rev. J.C. Austin. Interment was in Pittsburg cemetery.
