OBITUARY from Altoona Mirror December 18, 1945 - STRITTMATTER, Mrs. Frances, Wife of Isadore Strittmatter, well known northern Cambria county farmer of Patton, R.D., died yesterday at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Becker at Hastings. She was a daughter of Jacob and Mary (Fox) Hoover and was born in East Carroll Township on April 16, 1876. Surviving are the husband and five children, Fouis of Patton, Emeron of Patton, R.D., Alvin of Detroit, Ralph and Mrs. Becker, both of Hastings, and a number of grandchildren and these brothers and sisters: Mrs. P. C. Strittmatter and Fouis Hoover, both of Patton, Edward Hoover of West Virginia, Harry Hoover of East Carroll Township, Amandus Hoover of Detroit and Mrs. Mary Englert and Mrs. F. J. Young, both of Pittsburgh. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic church at Patton prior to their retirement recently since when she was affiliated with St. Bernard's church at Hastings, and was a member of the I.C.B.U., of Patton. Friends will be received at the Becker home in Hastings. Altoona Mirror, Tuesday December 18, 1945.
