Jim loved farming and was a mechanic during the 1930's. He was very creative and talented. Jim wrote poetry and sent them to family and friends. He really enjoyed fishing. He also spent many hours taking scrap material he got at the landfill he called "Sears Roebuck" and made windmills for family and friends yards.
Jim married Leora Louise Anderson on 25 December 1945. They had one daughter, Glenda Louise Morgan (McMurray). Jim was especially proud of his grand daughters Dawn, Julie and Lori.
He was a member of the Dewey Christian Church and when they moved to town in 1979 he was a member of the First Christian Church of Smith Center.
