Funeral services for Mrs. Oma "Granny" Owens, age 97, of Tullahoma, TN, who passed away Saturday, March 13, 2010 at the Harton Regional Medical Center, will be conducted Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with Pastor Glenn Denton officiating. Burial will follow in Miller Cemetery. Mrs. Owens was a native of Cullman, AL, the daughter of the late General Lee & Melissa Idella Lambert Mooney. She was a housewife and a member of the Oakley Baptist Church. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Roy Ancel Owens; daughters: Geraldine Walker & Bobbie Mason; son: A.C. Owens; sisters: Onnie Owens, Lottie Frymyer, Claudie Mooney; brothers: Erastus Mooney, Edgar Mooney and half-sister: Annell Brady. Survivors include daughters: Mary Jane Pruitt, Betty Jo Bates both of Tullahoma, TN; sons: Ed Owens & wife: Margaret of New Market, AL, Stanford Owens of Elora, TN, Charles Owens & wife: Diane of Tullahoma, TN; sisters: Estelle Whitehead of Guntersville, AL, Marie Roberts of McMinnville, TN, Rosie Snow of Huntsville, AL; half-sisters: Clora Nell Thomas, Billie Thomas, Christine Thompson; 37 Grandchildren, 72 great-grandchildren and 29 great-great-grandchildren. Visitation with the family will be Monday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home.
