Aaron Rene Rocha passed away on Friday, Aug. 22, 2008, in Houston. Aaron was surrounded by his friends, family members, and caregivers who loved him so much. Over the course of the last five months, Aaron touched the hearts of many people with his music, love, and personality. He fought a long and hard battle, and passed away with a smile on his face.

Aaron was born on Sept. 12, 1979, to Maria Guadalupe Villa and Redolfo Orosco Rocha of Cuero. He graduated from Cuero High School in 1997. Aaron received his Bachelor of Science in psychology on December 2004 and his Bachelor of Arts in biology on May 2005 from the University of Texas at Austin.

Aaron was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Guadalupe Villa Sr. of Cuero; and his paternal grandparents, Jesusa Orosco and Manuel Rivera of Bay City.

He was also preceded by his cousin, Chrissy Villa of Cuero.

He leaves behind his parents, Maria and Redolfo Rocha of Cuero; brother, Redolfo Rocha Jr. of Baytown; sister-in-law, Jeannette Frum Rocha of Baytown; brother, Ruben Villa Rocha of Houston; brother-in-law, Jim Falcon Johnson of Houston; sister, Laura Ann Rocha-Cournoyer of Fort Carson, Colo.; brother-in-law, Troy Cournoyer of Fort Carson, Colo.; and brother, Edward Lee Rocha of Boston. He also leaves behind his six nieces and nephews, Ashlee, Austin, Drew, Grace, Troy and Nathan.

Visitation and rosary will be Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2008, starting at 6 p.m., at Freund Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2008, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 11 a.m., with the Rev. Kirby Hlavaty officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Eloy Guerra of Austin, Darwin Hamilton of Victoria, Jim Falcon Johnson of Houston, Austin Scott Rocha of Baytown, Michael Andrew Sosa of Austin, and Jose Villa of Friendswood.

Honorary pallbearers are Ashlee Elizabeth Rocha of Baytown, Drew Scott Rocha of Baytown, Grace Erin Rocha of Baytown, Troy Scott Rocha-Cournoyer of Fort Carson, Colo., Nathan Christian Rocha-Cournoyer of Fort Carson, Colo., and Beverly Villa of Cuero.
