WELLSVILLE Edgar L. Nell, 72, entered into rest at 7:56 a.m. on Friday, April 11, 2014, at his home. He was the loving husband of Melvina R. (Hoffman) Nell. The couple celebrated 48 years of marriage on December 4, 2013. He was born December 21, 1941, in York, a son of the late Ralph D. and A. Pauline (Beck) Nell. Edgar was a 1960 graduate of Northern High School. He retired from Northern York School District where he was a school bus driver. He was also a farmer. Edgar was a member of Grace U.M. Church in Wellsville. He enjoyed going to auctions and public sales. In addition to his wife, Edgar is survived by two children, Rebecca L. Crone and husband, Scott of Dillsburg, and James M. Nell and wife, Wendy of East Berlin; grandsons, Matthias E. Crone and Tyler J. Nell; and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Jacob C. Nell. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Edgar's funeral at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at Emig Funeral Home, 47 N. Queen St., Dover. There will be viewings from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in St. Paul's Red Run Cemetery in East Berlin. Officiating will be the Rev. George Traub, pastor of Hope Grace Brethren Church in Dillsburg.
