Ella Emma Augusta Slaback, 96, formerly of the La Farge/Viola area, died on Thursday, Dec. 1, 2005, at Mercy Hospital in Janesville. She was born on March 23, 1909, in Baraboo, WI. She married Lloyd Slaback and they lived in the Viola area.She is survived by 5 children, 20 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-granddaughter. Sons include LA VERNE (Peggy) Slaback of Janesville, his children, Jack (Jill) Slaback and children, Jacob, Mallory and Haley; James (Diane) Slaback and children: Miranda, Morgan, and Manda, son, MARVIN (Mary Ann) Slaback of Longview, TX, and his children: Fred (Deborah) Slaback and son Jason, Dwight Slaback; Kim (Danny) Langston and children, Julie and Philip; a deceased son, CARL’S children: Eddie (Jo) Slaback and daughter, Catherine, Diane (Wayne) Efrud and daughter, Allison, Larry (Carol) Slaback and children: Amy, Rebecca, and Michelle. Daughters include JANICE Harpold of Billings, MT, and children, Brenda (David) Binstock and children: Kystra, Karsen, and Karter; Kathy Harpold; Stella (Mike) Milligan and children, Emma and Ethan, DARLENE (James) Retzlaff of Janesville and her children, Dawn (Tim) Strassman and children: Elizabeth, James, and Mathew, Todd Retzlaff, Tammi Retzlaff, ELAINE (Tony) Baxter of Viroqua, WI, and their children, Alan (Sally) Baxter and children: Amber, Kristine, Candace, Lauren, and Colton; Deborah (Phil) Redwine and children: Charisa, Charlene and Chari; Greg’s children: Carmeron, Brooke, and Kalea; Becki (Jason) Rider and son, Darren; and Paul (Erika) Baxter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd; a son, Carl Slaback; grandson, Greg Baxter; great-grandson, Matthew Baxter; 8 brothers and sisters: Clara, Harry, Fred, Ernest, Bill, Alma, Olga, and Elizabeth. She was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Richard Harpold; and 3 daughters-in-law: LaVerne’s 1st wife, Mary Ann, Marvin’s 1st wife, Juanita, and Carl’s wife, Barbara.
