He retired as an engineer after 32 years at Lockheed-Martin and was the former director of the Evening Leader Printing Co. in St. Marys. He was a Cub Scout packmaster. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and was an operations research scientist during the Korean War. He was a member of Christ Church of Longboat Key and a former elder at First Presbyterian Church in Orlando.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia; a daughter, Christine Yekel of Bradenton; sons Dr. Randal W. of Fort Myers and Robert A. of Montgomery, Ala.; and nine grandchildren.
A memorial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Shannon Funeral Home, Westview Chapel. Inurnment will be at Elm Grove Cemetery in St. Marys.
