Lou Burt passed away April 12, 2014, at his home in Huntley at the age of 67, surrounded by his family and friends.

He was born on July 19, 1946, to Lou Sr. and Arneldous Burt in Needles, Calif. Lou married the love of his life and best friend, Michele, on Oct. 26, 1968. As Lou always said, "she molded him into the man he was." Lou and his daughter had the privilege of sharing a very special relationship. In his own words, "his daughter was the greatest accomplishment in his life."

Lou was an avid outdoorsman who loved gardening, fishing, hunting and the New England Patriots, but his greatest love was his family. He went to work at the City of Billings Wastewater Treatment Plant in 1993 and retired in 2010. He was highly respected by many friends and co-workers. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends, but especially by his daughter and wife.

He was preceded in death by his sisters Gloria, Judy and Delorees.

He is survived by his wife, Michele; daughter, Bridgette; sons-in-law, Dale Heil, Dean Swanke; six grandchildren, Nicole, Danielle, Jordan, Devon, Garrett, Ciera; five great-grandchildren and his four-legged best friend, Brady.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are in the care of Dahl Funeral Chapel and memories may be shared with the family at www.dahlfuneralchapel.com.
