Mr. Beard was born January 24, 1920 in Summit to Thomas M. and Lela Beard. He was a WWII Army veteran having served in Normandy, France, and Central Europe. He was a member of Park Place Baptist Church in Pearl.
He will be deeply missed by four generations of nieces and nephews who loved him. He was lovingly known as "Papaw Fred" by great-great- nieces, Rachelle Toombs and Mrs. Tony (Renea) Stoeckmann, daughters of great-niece, Mrs. Richard (Sherry) Toombs of Brandon.
Mr. Beard was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Clarice B. Beard; his parents; brothers, Curtis, Gaston, Sr., T.M. and Robert Beard; sisters, Eva Dedon, Mabel Mehrhoff and Myra Beard.
Survivors include sister, Doris Chapman of McComb and brother, Murrie Beard of Conroe, Texas.
