Mr. Cudd was a prolific writer throughout his life. His son, Don Cudd, is currently organizing and editing his extensive work and intends to publish much of it in book form and on his website.
Mr. Cudd's employers were many. He was a teacher, businessman, massage therapist, truck driver, general laborer and community volunteer. He was active in several churches and political and civic organizations throughout his life. At his death, he was a much loved member of St. Luke s United Methodist Church, the place where he met his wife Sheila as a young man in 1962.
Mr. Cudd is preceded in death by his father, Harley Cudd; his mother, Ina Lou Briggs; his brothers, Joe "Monroe" Cudd, Kenneth Don Cudd; his nephew, John Cudd; and his step-mother, Alice Donham.
He is survived by his sister, Marianne Wilson, of Grande Praire; his wife, Sheila Cudd of Corpus Christi ; son, James Don Cudd of Corpus Christi and Brazoria County, Texas; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Cudd, Corpus Christi and Brazoria County, Texas; nieces, Kelly Campbell of North Texas, Kathy Martinez of Taos, New Mexico; nephews, Kenneth James Cudd of San Antonio, Ken Cudd of Fredricksburg, Maryland. His dear roommates, whom he often called "precious children of God", were attendant to his death. They are Rudy Flores and David Crawford.
