Both families were living in Walworth County, WI by 1850. Sarah was married first to Jerome Thomas, with whom she had three sons (Joseph Eastman, Reuben Thomas and Ormsby Bronson). After after an apparent divorce she went to live with her sister Elvira Bradway in California. Elvira Irish Bradway and Joseph P.
