Marilyn Abbott

Marilyn J. Wilwert Abbott, 77, of Madison, died Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at her residence.

She was born Oct. 8, 1936, in Laurens, Iowa. She worked in dry-cleaning and restaurants. She was later an owner and operator of Curley's Café in Madison. She was a member of the Community Fellowship Church.

She is survived by one son, Michael Abbott of Madison; one step daughter, Patty Zahm of Indianapolis; six stepsons, Bennie Wayne Abbott, Bobby Gene Abbott and Joey Abbott, all of Milton, Ky., Bob Forry and Danny Forry, both of California, and Billy Forry of Texas; one brother, Mike; and several grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bennie E. Abbott, who died Nov. 3, 2013; and her parents.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Burial will be in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Marilyn J. Abbott Memorial Fund. Contributions can be made through Vail Funeral Chapel, which is in charge of arrangements.
