Mary Sylvia Caldwell, 67, of Frontenac, passed away at 11:40 a.m. Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at Via Christi Hospital Pittsburg, Kansas.
Sylvia was born November 15, 1944 at Atchison, Kansas to Harold A. "Shorty" and Mary Isabelle (Hopple) Jessip. She graduated from Neodesha High School, where she had just celebrated her 50 year reunion.
Ms. Caldwell was a foster parent for over twenty years for the Kaw Valley Center of Kansas.
Sylvia is survived by a son, Larry Michael Henson of Washington; two daughters, Deborah Johnson-Untereker and her husband John Jr. of Frontenac and Cheryl Romero of Oklahoma City, OK.; six grandchildren, Christopher and Kayanna Henson, Courtenay Johnson, Guillermo, Joshua and Matthew Romero; a brother, Harold "Jerry" Jessip of Conroe, TX., and a sister Donna "Coke" Neds of Seattle, WA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a stillborn daughter, Susan Kayann Hensen, three brothers, Lyle, Perry, and Michael Jessip, a sister, Sandra Brunskill, and the love of her life, John.
