Thomas G. Ashby, Sr., 97, of Scott Depot, passed away December 14, 2007, at Sunbridge of Putnam in Hurricane.

He was a retired glasscutter with Libby Owens Ford and was a union steward. He was a member and deacon of South Ruffner First Baptist Church. Thomas was an avid outdoorsman and loving father and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Delma and son, Tommy.

Thomas is survived by his sons, James and David Ashby, both of Kentucky, Joseph Ashby of Florida and Paul Ashby of Kentucky; daughter, Margie Ashby of Kentucky and Margaret Jividen of Poca; 14 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Thomas� life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 17, 2007, at Casdorph & Curry Funeral Home, 110 B Street, St. Albans, with Rev. Tom Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Graceland Memorial Park, South Charleston.

There will be a gathering of family and friends from 6-8 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home.
