Born August 14, 1934 in Yazoo City, Mississippi, he had been a resident of Mansfield for over 45 years. He retired from Glove Steel ABR in 1989 with 33 years of service. he was a member of the International Free & Accepted modern Masons, Inc., and on June 7, 1965 received an Honorary Degree of Mark Master.
Surviving are two sons, Floyd (Valerie) Harris and Cornelius (Juanita) Harris, all of Mansfield; sister, Ruth Newbern and sister-in-law, Jessie Mae McNeil, both of Mansfield; aunt, Louise Ball of Toledo; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Carrie McNeil; former wife, Essie G Harris; sister, Laura Lee McNeil; a brother, John McNeil.
Funeral services will be Friday at Providence Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will be in Mansfield Cemetery.
