PROMINENT FARMER LAID TO REST
-WILLIAM A. DUNNINGTON DIES AT FARM HOME SOUTH OF THIS CITY
William A. Dunnington, a prominent and well to do farmer, died at his home last Saturday morning south of this city, at the age of 66 years, 6 months and 5 days. Mr. Dunnington had been in failing health for some time and was quite feeble, having suffered a paralytic stroke some time ago. Mr. Dunnington was the owner of a large farm where he and his son resided.
Deceased is survived by one brother, John A. Dunnington of near Atlanta; one sister out West; and one son, Alma C. of the home.
The funeral services were held from the Little Zion Church near Atlanta, Monday afternoon. The body was laid to rest in the Steele Cemetery to await the resurrection morn.

Several from here attended the funeral of Mr. William A. Dunnington at Little Zion Monday. We wish to correct an error, which was printed in the La Plata Home Press in regard to Mr. Dunnington's family. It stated that he had one brother, who lived near Atlanta, and one sister, who lives out West. The brother, J.C. Dunnington, lives in the neighborhood, also three sisters, Mrs. Jane Doggett and Mrs. Moses Doggett, and Mrs. Nan Martin of Blackwell, Oklahoma, the one spoken of as living out West. Mr. Dunnington was 66 years, 6 months and 5 days of age and leaves one son, Alma C. Dunnington, who lives on the farm near La Plata. Interment was in the Steele Cemetery.

OBITUARY
Mr. William A. Dunnington, an honored citizen of Macon County, passed away at his home south of La Plata July 8, 1923. He was born in Macon County Jan. 3, 1857, age 66 years, 6 months and 5 days. He married the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Sharp Mathis of this county, some 40 years or more ago. His wife died three years ago next August. They leave one child- a son, Alva, who has been faithful to attend and care for his father during his illness. He and his wife were members of the Little Zion Church and were devoted to it's principles and contributed freely to it's support. A great and good man has gone. The funeral was conducted at Little Zion Church July 9 by his pastor, Eld. G.E. Edwards of Macon. Interment was in Steele Cemetery beside his wife. He leaves his son; three sisters, Mrs. John and Mrs. Moses Doggett of Love Lake, and Mrs. Lloyd Martin of the state of Oklahoma; and one brother, John of near La Plata.
