HAVENSVILLE – Vinita Winfough, 84, of rural Havensville, died Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at her home.

She was born March 1, 1930 at Beaver, Oklahoma, the daughter of Leighton and Irma Sprague Eyer. She graduated as valedictorian of her class at Beaver High School in 1947 and attended the Oklahoma Baptist University.

Vinita was a member of the Havensville Christian Church, a Charter and Life member of the Onaga Fitness Center, an active member of the Local EHU/FCE Chapters, and helped found and organize the Shining Star 4-H Club at Havensville. She raised a very large garden every summer and shared with many. Vinita and her husband Wayne enjoyed camping and campouts, hosting many Labor Day campouts at their home. They traveled and camped throughout the country. She was a wife and a homemaker and helped with the family dairy operation.

She married Wayne Chris Winfough on July 21, 1948 at Beaver, OK. He died September 8, 2006.

Vinita was also preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth Eyer, and George Eyer, who died in infancy, and two sisters, Doris Cook and Lorraine Millikan.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 19th at the Havensville Christian Church. Burial will follow in the Havensville Cemetery. Vinita will lie in state Friday at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Onaga. The casket will remain closed. Memorials are suggested to the Havensville Christian Church Building Fund or Grace Hospice, and may be sent in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 312, Onaga, 66521.
