Richard Harold Murch, of Lincoln, California, passed away April 9, 2014.

Richard was born in Lincoln, February 17, 1929 to Cecil Shirley Murch and Alice Laura Davis.

The Murch family has resided in the Lincoln area for over one hundred years, Richard's grandfather Charles Stephen Murch arrived in Lincoln approx. 1905. Richard attended school at the historic Fruitvale School. He was first and foremost a rancher and loved nothing more than just being in the fields with his cattle at the ranch he acquired on Crosby Herold Rd., next to his parents in the 1950's. He followed in his father Cecil's footsteps and worked for the Nevada Irrigation District (NID) for 36 years, Richard's son Fallon also worked for NID for 34 years, the three worked a combined approx. 80 years for the public service agency.

Richard was a US Veteran and served in the Army from 1951 -1956 participating in the Korean Conflict. On August 24, 1953 Richard was joined in marriage to Betty Louise Arruda in Lovelock, Nev.

He was predeceased by his daughter Glenda Lee, and son Gregory Lynn, father Cecil, mother Alice and brother Emmett.

The family is very grateful for the exceptional care Richard received by the staff of Villa Del Rey Care Home.
