William H. Brannon was a Private in Col. Benjamin Roebuck's Battalion of Spartan Regiment Militia, serving with Captain Major Parsons, as a horseman between 15 September 1779 to 1 July 1781, in the American Revolutionary War between 1765 and 1783.
