"John Fred" Bauer was baptized Jakob Friderich Bauer, son of Johann Gottlieb Bauer and Sibylla Magaretha Kuppinger as seen below. Connection made through his two sisters and brother George, all of whom lived in Genoa Village in the late 1800's, but later all but John, removed to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. (Their baptisms can all be found in the Weil Im Schönbuch church records with the same parentage.)
He worked as a shoemaker
He married Johanna Mary Hamer sometime before 1867 in Philadelphia, Pa. They had one child, Martin Fredrick Bauer, known as Freddy, who was born there at 433 N 10th Street. They moved to Genoa sometime between 1870 and 1880.
He was a baptismal sponsor for his nieces, Carolina Wagner, and Wilhelmina Marie Morgenroth in Genoa.
