FARRAR, Mabel Marie Phipps passed away on October 10, 2005 at age 92. She was born in Westville, Oklahoma on November 22, 1912 and moved to Selma, California in 1925. She graduated from Selma High School. She further graduated from Biola in 1932, and later attended Fresno State University. Mabel married Herbert A. Farrar in Selma on December 30, 1934, serving with him in evangelist campaigns and in Baptist pastorates in Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois, Tennessee, Colorado, Nevada, Oregon and California. After their retirement, she and husband served as Camp ground hosts with the California State Parks System, ultimately taking residence in Spokane. Mabel was the mother of three daughters. Five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren also survive . She was a talented oils and water-color artist. Mabel and husband passed their 70th wedding anniversary last December Thirtieth. Visitation was held on October 13 and 14th with Funeral Service on October 14. 2005, at the Heritage Funeral Home. Interment is at Riverside Memorial Park at the Remembrance section.
