Marguerite had come down with tuberculosis. Towards the end, they had hoped that moving her to Arizona with the dryer air, and higher altitude would save her life. On the train ride, she got to meet Sue Ann who was just about 6 months old.

I have her hair in grandma's cedar chest from when she was young. She had very thick dark blond hair and grandma said she normally had to get it cut twice since it was so thick.
