Mrs. Emma Hamlin, aged 23 years, wife of Raymond Hamlin, was found dead by her husband in a outbuilding in the yard at their home, No. 284 Mercer street, about 4:20 o'clock yesterday afternoon. Death was apparently due to natural causes.
Mr. Hamlin, who is employed at the Warren foundry, went home from his day's work about 1:20 o'clock and at that time his wife was around and in the best of spirits and continued to do her house work. It was only a short time previous to being found cold in death that Mrs. Hamlin was talking to a neighbor. Because of her sudden disappearance, her husband started to look for her, thinking that she must be somewhere in the house. Not finding her there he looked in the outbuilding and was horrified to find her senseless. Thinking perhaps she had fainted he sent for a physician but the woman was past human aid.
Coroner Kenney was sent for and after viewing the remains and hearing the evidence deemed an inquest unnecessary.
Besides her husband, Mrs Hamlin leaves one daughter, Ruth; her parents, Mr & Mrs. William Lewis, two brother, Oliver Lewis and William Lewis, all of this place, and three sisters, Miss Mame Lewis, of this place; Mrs. John Werkheiser and Mrs. Charles Garren, both of Easton. Deceased was a member of the First Reformed Church of Easton.
