Aaron Bartholomew and Martin Westbrook made the largest haul of perfumery yet on record and any one wishing the genuine can get it very cheap. They dug eight, full-grown skunks from one hole and sold the skins for $9, not a nasty job after all.

At the family residence on March 17, 1917, at 3:40 p.m., occurred the death of Aaron Bartholomew, Sr., of Canadice. He had been in poor health for several years and his death was not unexpected. He was born in Garlinghouse, in the town of Naples, on December 14, 1844, and was united in marriage on July 21, 1867, to Clara Westbrook, of Canadice, whom he leaves to mourn his loss.

He also leaves eight children, four sons and four daughters: Mrs. George Gross, of Rochester; Mrs. Jacob Bill and Mrs. Henry VanRiper, of Wayland, and Mrs. William Randolph, of Bath; Henry and Aaron Jr., of Canadice; Gilbert, of Little Valley, and Hiram, of Elmira. Besides these he leaves twelve, grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; two brothers, William and Eugene, of Garlinghouse, and one sister, Mrs. Mary Polamanteer, of Atlanta.

He was a kind father, a loving husband and a friend to all. The funeral was held from the home at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 20, Rev. Henshaw, of Honeoye, officiating, and burial in Lake View cemetery at Honeoye. The sympathy of this community is extended to the bereaved family.
