Billy Gene "Bill" Williams, 70, of 216 W. Poplar St., Harrisburg, died at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, 1998 at St. Mary's Hospital in Evansville, Ind.

He was born on Dec. 29, 1927 in Harrisburg to the late Dewey and Eva (Overton) Williams.

Mr. Williams retired as a partner in the Williams and Associates Insurance Agency in Harrisburg. He was an Army veteran.

On Dec. 30, 1953, he married the former Donna Day. She survives. Also surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Deborah Jean Williams of Harrisburg; two daughters and a son-in-law, Steven and Deborah Jean Williams of Harrisburg and Vicki Lynn and Wendell Penrod of Mount Vernon; a brother and a sister-in-law, Don and Kathleen Williams of Harrisburg; three grandchildren, Douglas Christopher Williams, Stephanie Jo Williams, and Jason Andrew Penrod; and several nieces and nephews.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Jolly Boys Club and Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, 1998 at the First United Methodist Church in Harrisburg. The Rev. Dennis Doane will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Ben Anderson. Burial will be in Sunset Lawn Cemetery in Harrisburg.
