OBIT

Herman E. Davis, a brother of Walter M. Davis, the acting chief of police, died at the home of the latter, No. 161, block W., at 9:05 o'clock last evening of peritonitis. He was about 22 years old.

Deceased was a young man very welll known in Pueblo where he had resided for five years, most of the time being spent in mercantile pursuits. Recently he had been deputy county jailor. He was an industrious young man and had won a great many sincere friends during the time he made his home in Pueblo.

Herman E. Davis was born in Chillicothe, Mo., where he lived until he was 17 years old when he came to Pueblo with his older brother, Walter. He leaves a father, mother and two brothers, Webb and Harry, in the east, who had been notified of his illness and wil arrive in the city today.
