Alvin Jack Fitzgerald, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed away on April 19, 2014 at the age of 89. Alvin Jack was always helpful and a very giving person, tender hearted, and a jokster who was always smiling. He was a member of the Judson Memorial Baptist Church, and retired from the Lansing School District after many years of service. "Til we meet again, ungawa."
Preceding him in death are his parents, Ernest and Martha Fitzgerald, sisters Grace Helferich and Dorothy Worm, and brother Thomas Fitzgerald.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife Connie, daughters Marsha (Michael) Grisinger and Marianne (Scott) Horowitz, sons Larry (Cheryl) Fitzgerald, Dennis (Tosha) Fitzgerald, grandchildren Joshua (Ali), Sara, Zach Fitzgerald, Ariel Goyette, Danielle, Andrew (Alexis), and Christopher Dutton, fourteen great grandchildren, his beloved dog Baby Bubba, sister Joanne Blaylock, and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the Great Lakes Caring Hospice, especially Elyse, Merri, Kory, Anne, Charles, John, and all the other staff who comforted him on his journey.
Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at 12:00 PM. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 East Michigan Avenue, Lansing. Memorial contributions may be made to Great Lakes Caring Hospice, 3100-B West Road, Suite 203, East Lansing, Michigan. The family is being served by Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, Lansing Chapel.
