Monrow Booker died in 1913 when Helon was only 6 years old. Sallie Booker then married James Franklin Yancey. He died when he was 49. Sallie was about 6 years older than he was. She went to live with Helon in Elkhart, Indiana. She died up there. Helon and her husband had a station wagon and they brought her back to Ripley in the station wagon. They stopped in Memphis on their way back, at the home of Owen and Marie Booker.
