Glen McCarty's wife,
Helen Ruth Goforth, in 1960 (8th grade)

Helen Ruth McCarty, nee Goforth, 67, of Millstadt, Illinois, died Sunday, April 20, 2014.

Helen was a bus driver for the Millstadt Community School District 160 and ATS for 38 years. She was a member of the Spring Valley Baptist Church; the Tuesday Nite Ladies League at Bel Aire Bowl, and bowled in the Granny Tournament for 22 years.

Helen married the love of her life, Glen Evan McCarty, on September 23, 1967, at the First Baptist Church in Millstadt, Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Mary (Jones) Goforth, and a brother, Willard Thomas Goforth.

Surviving are her husband, Glen Evan McCarty; two daughters, Connie (Robert) Stilwel of Bethalto, Illinois, and Rita (Bruce) Brinkman of Valmeyer, Illinois; two sisters, Emily Kammerer of Glen Pool, Oklahoma, and Mary Edmonds, of Sparta, Illinois; five grandchildren, Robert Stilwell, III, and Rachel Stilwell, both of Bethalto, Illinois; Dustin, Bethany and Ryan Brinkman all of Valmeyer, Illinois; nieces; nephews, and many friends.

Memorials may be made to Spring Valley Baptist Church the Cancer Care Clinic, or BJC Hospice Care.

ONLINE CONDOLENCES

VISITATION: Friends called from 4 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, April 23, 2014, and from 9 to 11 a.m., Thursday, April 24, 2014, at the Creason Funeral Home in Millstadt, Illinois.

FUNERAL: Services were held at 11 a. m., Thursday, April 24, 2014, at the funeral home with Rev. Jerold Gerald officiating. Private interment in Mt. Evergreen Cemetery, Millstadt, Illinois.
