SNYDER ~~ C. E. Palmer, 56, employee of Sun Pipeline Company died Friday at Root Memorial Hospital in Colorado City. He had been hospitalized about ten days.
Funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Avenue D Baptist Church. The Reverend Bobby Smith pastor, will officiate, assisted by the Reverend Allen Cartrite of Abilene and the Reverend David Crow of Melrose, New Mexico.Graveside rites will be held at 4 p.m. Monday at Rose Hill Cemetery in Cleburne. Bell-Seale Funeral Home is handling arrangements.Born October 9, 1909 in Batson, he married Hester Simpson May 20, 1934 in Mont Belvieu. He came to Snyder from Silver about two years ago.Mr. Palmer had been a deacon in the Baptist Church since 1946.Survivors are his wife; one daughter, Ruth of Howard County Junior College in Big Spring; three sons, Sonny of Washington, D.C., Charles of Marshall and Jimmy at West Texas State University in Canyon; his father, H. C. Palmer of Bridgeport; and one sister, Mrs. B. H. Price of Bridgeport.Pallbearers will be R. L. Coffman, Fred Theis, Johnny Walker, Clay Collins, Rupert Short, W. C. Rasberry and J. D. James.West Texas area employees of Sun Pipeline will be honorary pallbearers.
