He was a resident to California until moving to Eugene in 1976. He worked for 25 years for Burgermeister. His hobbies included hunting and working on his rental property.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Cecil Bessey of Powers, Roy of Sonora, Calif., and Robert of Concord, Calif.; Beverly Grosch of Daly, Calif.; a brother, Leslie of Menlo Park, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
