Estill - Caro Lawton Clarke, 94, died Saturday in a Columbia nursing home. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Lawtonville Cemetery. Burial will be directed by Peeples-Rhoden's Hampton Chapel.
Mrs. Clarke was born in Lawtonville, a daughter of John Lawton Jr. and Caroline Barnes Lawton. She was a graduate of Chicora College and was a member of Estill Book Club. she was a member of Estill Presbyterian Church and was the widow of C.M. Clarke.
Surviving are a daughter, Lawton C. O'Cain of Estill; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
