George L. "Salty" Miller, age 73, died on Father's Day, June 18, 2000. At the time of his death his survivors included his wife, Maryen Lorrain (nee McKay) Miller, and their daughter, Abby Lee Miller, both noted dance teachers, and his sisters Sue Miller McGee and Grace Miller Bovard.
Born to George R. and Ida May (nee Baker) Miller, he had been predeceased by his parents and his siblings John, Sam, and Shirley Miller Soles.
On the Thursday evening, June 22, 2000, Mr. Miller's family and friends gathered to celebrate his life at the Alcoma Golf Club in Penn Hills, Pennsylvania. Funeral arrangements were handled by the Edward P. Kanai Funeral Home.
In April 2014, during the course of a televised interview about her popular reality TV series, "Dance Moms", Abby Lee Miller stated that her father's ashes had been placed in the casket of her mother, Maryen Lorrain Miller, following her death in February 2014.
