Ada L. Barber, 84, went home to be with the Lord on Jan. 14, 1998.
An area resident for 40 years, she had been employed as a cashier for the old Walgreen Drug Store in downtown Akron, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Tallmadge.
Preceded in death by her son, Thomas Hutchens, she is survived by her husband, Float (Harry); daughters, Gail (Robert) Stull of Akron, Treva (Richard) Dillon of Florida; son, Irl Gordon of Massachusetts; daughter-in-law, Donna Lee Hutchens of Maryland; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; sister, Beatrice McNew; and brother, Paul Jones, both of Alabama.
Funeral services Saturday, 12 noon, at the Dunn-Quigley, Ciriello & Carr Funeral Home in Cuyahoga Falls (Eighth at Portage Trail), Rev. David D. Henry officiating. Interment at Northlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday.
