Charles Peter Anderson, 73, a member of a Genoa pioneer family, died at 8:45 Wednesday night at his home following an extended period of failing health. He was born Dec. 19, 1881, on a farm near Genoa, the son odf Peter and Etta Brown Anderson. As a young man he moved to Burlingtom where he was engaged as a building contractor. On March 23, 1929, he was married to to Ethel Riebock of Elgin, and they resided in Burlington until 1943 when they moved to Genoa. Mr. Anderson wa employed there by the Leich Electric Co. In Burlington he was a member of the Woodmen.
Survivors are the widow, Ethel; two daughters, Mrs. Peter (Helen) Ferres of Sycamore, and Mrs. Raymond (Edna Rose) Highland of Genoa; six sons, Howard Stringfellow of Sycamore, Roy and Donald Anderson of Burlington, Lester Anderson of Plato Center, Robert Anderson of Sault Saint Marie, Mich.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; a brother, Harry L. Anderson of Elgin, and a sister, Mrs. Lorah Brewer of Franklin Park.
Services will be held at 2 Saturday afternoon from the Methodist church in Genoa, the Rev. C. F. Carlson officiating. Burial will be in the Burlington Union cemetery. Friends may call at the Cooper funeral home in Genoa.
