Born August 26, 1961, in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of Jane A. Nolan Barberio and the late Joseph P. Barberio. He was a 1979 graduate of GAR High School.
He graduated with a bachelor of arts degree from King's College and a master's degree from Wilkes University, where he was an evening librarian for many years. He received his Juris Doctorate degree from Temple University Law School, Philadelphia, and became a certified Lawyer in New Jersey.
He was a musician and poet and was featured in the Wilkes-Barre Fine Arts Fiesta. He was active in the community and politics and was a continuing member of Mensa.
Surviving, in addition to his mother Jane Nolan Barberio, a sister; Mary Barberio, both of Philadelphia, also survived by his wife Colette, Wilkes-Barre; and a nephew.
A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday at Recupero Funeral Home, 141 Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre, with Rev. Norman Beck Officiating.
