Marjorie H. Bean, 79, of Pleasant Street in Concord, died Saturday, May 3, 2008, at Presidential Oaks.
She was born in Plymouth, the daughter of Dr. John C. and Doris (Badger) Huckins. She was a 1946 graduate of Plymouth High School.
Marjorie worked for more than 25 years for the state of New Hampshire as a secretary in the Department of Revenue Administration. She was a longtime member of Riverside Rebekah Lodge 22 in Contoocook and served as noble grand in 1971.
She was predeceased by her sisters Rachel Huckins, Sarah Smith and Hazel Merrill; and a granddaughter.
She is survived by two sons, John E. Bean of Potsdam, N.Y., and William P. Bean of Contoocook; one daughter, Katie Kemp of Henniker; two sisters, Barbara Ash of Denver and Phyllis Higgins of Concord; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Bennett Funeral Home, 209 N. Main St. in Concord.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in Laconia.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Concord Regional Visiting Nurse Association, Hospice Program, P.O. Box 1797, Concord 03302.
