Mrs. Freda Charleen (Curtis) Asher Duffer, 83, of 2113 Willow St., Eldorado, died at 8:03 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, 1997 at her home.

She was born in Stone County Missouri on Dec. 11, 1914, to the late Celia (Weck) and Little Berry Curtis.

Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy (Asher) and Don White, Mary (Asher) and Ed Morris, Dorothy (Asher) Ryder, all of Eldorado, Norma (Duffer) and Don Ericson, Fall Creek, Wis.; a son, Sid and wife, Nancy Duffer of Decatur; a stepson, Bill and wife, Joyce Duffer of Decatur; 22 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Hazel Williams of Newton; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Elmer Asher; second husband, William Bradford Duffer; infant daughter, Shirley Duffer; six sisters; three brothers; and a son-in-law, Herb Ryder.

Mrs. Duffer was a retired cook from the Eldorado Community Unit School. She had also worked at the Sangaman Ordinance Plant in Illiopolis, Ill., Y.M.C.A. in Decatur; and the Mommoth Medical Center in Long Branch, N.J.

She was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Wasson Road, Eldorado. She has been an active member and teacher of little children.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday at Watson Funeral Home in Eldorado, where friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday. Evangelists Olen Henson and Ed Morris will officiate. Burial will be in Wolf Creek Cemetery at Eldorado.

Memorials may be made to Hospice.
