Vrena was born on October 5, 1917, in Newport, the daughter of Bennie and Emma (Mielke) Anderson. On January 17, 1942, she married Louis Johnson in Wisconsin Dells; Louis and Vrena traveled to the east coast awaiting assignment to a ship for his tour of duty in WWII. Vrena's love of travel took them throughout the United States over their 55 years of marriage. He preceded her in death in February of 1997. Vrena was an amazing woman of many talents. Not only was she a loving wife and mother, but also worked at the General Telephone Company, cooked at the Wisconsin Dells High School, was employed with her husband at the Dells Associated Boat Company accounting office, and made fudge at a local fudge shop. Her talents as a seamstress and knitter are remembered and appreciated by all of her family and her accomplishments as an artist and craftswoman are acclaimed. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Trinity Lutheran Ladies Aid, and the Columbia County Homemakers. WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME.
