Lee Dresser was born on May 22, 1941, in Washington, D.C., where his Dad was a government lawyer, and his Mom a professional ballerina. After the death of his parents in the early fifties, Lee went to live with his maternal grandparents in Moberly. Lee bought his first guitar when he was fourteen, and taught himself how to play in open tuning, learned how to sing about eight songs, and the next thing he knew, the Krazy Kats were born with his friends Willie Craig and Fred Fletcher. They were together for 57 years (the same 3 guys).

He attended Moberly Junior College, and then Missouri University, where the Kats continued to play to packed houses. When his buddy, Willie, was drafted in 1965, Lee was not far behind. He got his call in 1966, and was promptly sent to Viet Nam, where he connected up with Willie once again. Small world, indeed! Although they didn't perform together there, Lee did a solo act for the remainder of his tour, including some USO work.

After his discharge, Lee moved to Los Angeles, where he began a recording and performing career, working with Danny Thomas, Dolly Parton, Merle Haggard, The Oak Ridge Boys, and many others. Signed to Capitol, he had several chart records, and toured many countries, including Australia and Japan, where he represented the United States in the 1972 World Popular Song Festival, held in Tokyo. He sang the soundtrack of the 1975 hit movie, "The Adventures of the Wilderness Family", and supplied some of the "Country Bear Jamboree" voices, still heard in the Disney parks. Lee's songs have been recorded and performed by Pat Boone, Bobby Sherman, The Osmonds, Trini Lopez, Ray Price, and many others, winning him a 1982 American Song Festival award.

In 1980, Lee contacted his old band mates, and the Kats were back in business, with Lee flying in for performances. By 1985, the demand was so strong for the band, that Lee moved back to the Midwest, and has been going strong ever since.

Lee loved to perform, and nothing made him prouder than the fact that the Kats were "Still Rockin' After All These Years!"
