Robert Wayne "Fitz" Fitzsimmons, 76, passed away Friday, April 18, 2014, after a valiant fight with cancer at the Brennity in Vero Beach, Florida.

He was born on June 29, 1937 in Danville, Illinois to Fred Fitzsimmons and Esther Mast Parent. He was preceded in death by his sister, Connie Turpin. He married Brenda Jumps in 1956. She survives.

He is also survived by his sister, Carol Latoz; two half-sisters, Suzie and Cindy; four daughters, Lora (Greg) Leach, Darla (Andy) Urquhart, Shelly (Randy) Clark and Stacey (Charlie) Fouche; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He worked at Hyster in Danville and later owned his own construction company. He also worked as a hearing consultant for Beltone Hearing Aid Center. After moving to Florida, he continued working laying tile and later at Sam's Club.
